We have twin 7 year old boys and we moved here from Southern California 4 years ago. Today was the boys first experience of many of the things I did as a young boy. Thank you so much for making their initial exposure to hunting, shooting, fishing and trapping so wonderful!! BTW, my wife loved it as well. Are memberships to the club available and if so, how do I get further information?

Thanks for inviting me to this year’s event at the Johnstown Sportsmen’s Club.  I was extremely impressed with how much there was to do for the kids, and how well it was all set up.  Thank you and everyone else from PF that put in the time and energy to make that event happen.  Mother nature was not so kind, but I thought attendance was pretty good considering the cold and wind.  I can only imagine what that event looks like when the weather is good!

One of my heroes, Woody Hayes, used to talk about how in life you can’t pay back – but you can pay forward.  When it comes to the outdoor activities that make life worth living for us, youth events like the one you guys put on last Saturday are a great way of paying forward.  The way us older folks can give back to the outdoor activities that have meant so much to us, is by paying forward by introducing kids to the great outdoors and all there is to do there.  Thank you so much for doing that, and thanks to Pheasants Forever for being such a great partner in conservation.

I look forward to crossing paths in the coming year, and please put me on the invitation list for next year’s youth event!

Take care,

Raymond W. Petering, Chief

ODNR Division of Wildlife
